William J Young

William (Billy) Jeremy Young, 46, from Cottage Grove passed away unexpectedly on May 17, 2024, at home. Born on March 29, 1978, in Waterloo, Iowa to James Sr and Sharon Young.


Billy was a carpenter by trade. Billy, also, loved fishing, boating, and making model boats. His most favorite thing was camping and making smores with McKinley. He liked to tinker with different things. His most prized possesion was his Blue Camero Z-28. Billy was very passionate about his neices and nephews. Billy along with his brother Chris helped build structures at Hope Glen Farms venues, barn stables, many houses and other carpentry projects.


Billy is preceded in death by his father James Edward Young Sr. His mother Sharon Lynn Wolfe Young and his brother John Edward Young. Both maternal and paternal grandparents.


Billy is survived by his daughter McKinley Young and his son Zachary Williams. His sisters Julie (Chris) Pothen, Cynthia (Keith) Johnson, Amy (Dennis) Gamer, and Jennifer Young. His brothers James Young Jr, Christopher Young, and Robert (Laura) Young.


Nieces and nephews: Melissa, Krystle (Brandon), Travis, Carlos, Brent, Ashley (Tace), Elaina (Carl), Kristina (Brice), Alyssa (Rey), Tyler, Alexis (Duncan), Taylor (Andrew), Charlie, Jasmine, Tristen, Brandon, and 10 great nieces and nephews.


The service to celebrate Billy's life will be held June 21, 2024, at 11:00 am, at Hope Glen Farm, 10276 E. Point Douglas Road S., Cottage Grove, Mn 55016. With a private family burial at Resurrection Cemetery.
