William "Bill" E. Eastman

William E. Eastman, age 84, of Hastings, MN, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 16, 2024. Bill was born on May 9, 1940, in Portage, WI, to William A. and Esther (Newell) Eastman.

Growing up in the Portage, WI area, Bill lived there until the 1970s, after which he relocated to Hastings, MN. He would call Hastings his home for the next 50 years. Bill worked at Intek Plastics for over three decades, retiring from the company. His love for camping, fishing, and tinkering with computers kept him busy and on the go. Bill was always seeking the next adventure.

He is survived by his two daughters, Pamela (Thomas) Klappstein of Portage, WI, and Tamra (John) Sarnstrom of Buffalo, MN; three grandchildren: Jessica (Nick) Leahy, Reece (Coral) Sarnstrom, and Brice Sarnstrom; and two great-grandchildren, Winston Leahy and Sophia Leahy. His soul mate of 26 years, Sue Jansen, also survives him.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, William A. and Esther Eastman, and his sister, Barbara Jean Thiede.

A memorial service to celebrate Bill's life will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion St, Hastings, MN, with a visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will occur at a later date at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Portage, WI.
