Wally Schweich

Wallace Myron Schweich; age 67, passed away peacefully on May 5th, 2023 with his loving wife by his side.

Wally was born November 16th, 1955 in Hastings, MN to Roman and Florence (Fox) Schweich.

Wally was a lifelong Hastings resident graduating from Hastings High School in 1974. He was a Carpenter by trade, a proud lifelong member of Carpenter’s Local 87, where he spent his life building and creating the Twin Cities skyline. He was able to enjoy 12 wonderful years in retirement, spending time with family and friends; enjoying youth sports and other activities with his Grandchildren. Of course, any other down time was filled with a seemingly endless list of projects that he would create for himself, enjoying every last minute down to the last nail, screw, or bolt. He also added new hobbies to his already long list of skills, including welding, woodburning, and driftwood art.

Wally is survived by his wife of 39 Years Susan (Bjerke), Children Peter (Rachel), Chrissy, Jake (Stephanie), and Charlie (Sarah), 9 Grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren; and siblings Bob (Connie), Fred (Mary), and Sandy (Don).

A remembrance celebration will be held at a later date.

A Celebration of Life for Wallace will be held Saturday, October 7, 2023 from 1:00 - 4:00 PM at 220 West 15th St., Hastings, MN 55033.
