Bjorkstrand, Violet “Vi” Frances

Age 83 of Minneapolis, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family and holding her husband, Wally’s hand. Preceded in death by her mother, Alice; father, Ed; sister, Bonnie; brothers, Robert and Jimmy; and daughter-in-law, Beth. Survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Wally; sons, Perry, Tim, Dan (Jeanne), Matt (Kathy), Wally (Rolando), and Jon (Joann); 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Ed, Fran (Tom), and Sue (Chimezie); sister-in-law, Pat (Joe); many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Vi enjoyed bowling and tending to her garden. Her faith was very important to her and she was a devoted member of Minnehaha Communion Lutheran Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Vi was an eternal caretaker, from a very young age she took care of her siblings and throughout her life she always had an open door and helping hand for anyone in need. Memorial Service at 11am on Sat., Aug. 3, 2024, at Minnehaha Communion Lutheran Church, 4101 37^th Ave. S., Minneapolis, with visitation one hour prior. Burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are preferred to Minnehaha Communion Lutheran Church.
