Vernon J. Munger

Vernon John Munger, age 86, passed away at United Hospital on Saturday evening, December 16, 2023.

Vernon was born on May 12, 1937 to parents Dale and Emma Munger in Hastings, Minnesota. Vernon enjoyed tinkering on things in his garage and fixing various things, including working on cars, more specifically his Model A and Model T cars. He loved to attend car shows, fishing, and going to the library as he was an avid reader. Vernon was a very adventurous person, in his younger years he liked to go biking, camping, sailing, and boating. Most of all he loved spending as much time as he could with his grandkids, cherishing every moment he got with them.

He was preceded in death, his parents, Dale and Emma; and sister, Marleen Logli

Vernon is survived by his wife, Shirley; sons, Paul (Michelle) Munger and Chance (Alena) Munger; grandkids, Felix and Cooper Munger, Jonah Harrington and Kailee Harrington; sister, Renae Russell; and niece, Heather Russell.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hastings, with a visitation one hour prior. A reception will be held after the service at the church with interment being held at Lakeside cemetery at 1:30 P.M.

Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
