Verneale V. Hoffman

Age 89, of Red Wing passed away Friday, August 26 at Saint Crispin, Red Wing. Verneale, daughter of Hillard and Adeline (Ingli) Fosberg, was born on March 8, 1933, in Plum City, WI. She married her husband, Quentin Hoffman, on July 19, 1951, in Mason City, IA. They later moved to Hager City, WI where they grew their family. Verneale loved being a mother and homemaker. She enjoyed quilt making and made many for family members over the years. There are several still around. The past 5 years she moved into assisted living, more recently Saint Crispin nursing home. She has enjoyed socializing and loves going to all the events and activities. She would happily show her projects to family during their visits. She loved going to dinner early to save her spot and was always there for bingo. She also loved when her family brought her treats. She had a snack drawer that was difficult to get her to share. Preceded in death by her loving husband Quentin Hoffman; parents, Hillard & Adeline Fosberg; sons, James & Jack; daughter, Kathy; brother, Dale (Dorothy) Fosberg; daughter-In-law, Daisy; Son-In-Law, Tom. She is survived by her siblings, Laverne (Elaine) Fosberg, Charles (Judi) Fosberg, Gary Fosberg; six sons, Howard (Dea), Richard (Karen), Joseph, David, Daniel, and John; two daughters, Betty (Robert) Holt and Mary Sheridan; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. A Celebration of Verneale's life will be held Wednesday, August 31 from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, in Hastings. Words of Remembrance will be spoken at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place at Maiden Rock Cemetery, 110th Ave., Maiden Rock, WI 54750 at 1:15 p.m. following the service.
