Tony Debuono

December 29, 1972 — November 2, 2022

Tony DeBuono, 49, of Cottage Grove (formerly of Hastings) passed unexpectedly on November 2, 2022.

Harry Anthony DeBuono was born on December 29, 1972 to Harry and Peggy (Young) DeBuono on RAF Lakenheath in England.

Tony attended numerous schools throughout the country while his dad honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1991.

After graduation, Tony enlisted in the United States Air Force, and served his country for six years, including being in the Gulf War. While serving, Tony was certified as an electrician.

Once he returned from military service, Tony continued his education and received his degree in Electrical Design from Dunwoody College of Technology.

While Tony worked different jobs in his field, he truly felt at home when he started at 3M in 2017. There he served as a supervisor in Plant Engineering for a group of wonderful craftsmen.

Tony was a motorcycle enthusiast and loved any opportunity to get out on his bike. He enjoyed travel. His favorite destinations include Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, Mexico and warm, sunny beaches. He most recently traveled with close friends through the Smoky Mountains on a motorcycle trip.

His son, Elliott, brought Tony the greatest joy in life. He was very proud of “the kid” and wasn’t shy about sharing it. They shared a passion for football and especially loved cheering on the Minnesota Vikings and Cleveland Browns.

Tony had many wonderful close friends who truly were his life as well. His quick wit and fantastic sense of humor will be greatly missed by many.

Tony is survived by his mother, Peggy; son, Elliott; sister, Tara (Richard); nephews, Dalton & Eddie; longtime friend, Jessica Dodge; many amazing friends and his pup, Rocco.

He was preceded in death by his beloved father, Harry.
