Thomas W. Marty

Thomas W. Marty, 78, of Hudson, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on July 27, 2023 surrounded by family.

Tom was born to Orville and Harriet Marty on January 28, 1945 in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was a graduate of St. Paul Park High School, and then immediately began his 21 year career in the United States Navy as a machinist. On September 8, 1990, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Dorothy Peterson (Hartung) where they spent 32 years together. He spent 25 more years as a machinist at 3M following his retirement from the navy. He was an avid woodworker, they were both motorcycle enthusiasts, and in their later years, he and Dorothy enjoyed 13 years in Montana before settling back in Hudson.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Richard "Dick" and John "Jack" Marty.

Tom was survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Lisa (Steve) Crisp, Barry (Tanya) Peterson, Laurie Marty, Chrissy (John) Gallagan, Dina (Steve) Richter, and Heather (Britt) Lee; siblings Mary, Mark, Deb, and Linden; 9 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank Lakeview Hospice and the staff at the St. Croix Care Center in New Richmond for their care & Compassion they showed while he was there.

A celebration of life will be held for Tom on Friday, August 4 from 1:00 - 5:00 PM at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel in Hastings, MN- 3075 Vermillion Street, Hastings. In lieu of flowers, donations preferred to the American Stroke Association, https://www.stroke.org/en/.
