Teresa A. Bilderback

Teresa (Sabelko) Bilderback, age 79, of Birchwood, Wisconsin, passed away on December 20, 2024 at Benedictine Living-Regina in Hastings, Minnesota after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.

Teresa was born on March 24, 1945 in Lima Township, Durand, Wisconsin, the sixth of seven children of Tom and Helen Sabelko.

She graduated from Sacred Heart High School near Durand in 1963. Teresa then worked in St. Paul Minnesota for two years

before marrying her high school sweetheart, Jim Bilderback, on June 12, 1965 and moving to Menomonie, Wisconsin.

After helping to put Jim through college by working as a switchboard operator for UW-Stout, they moved to Oshkosh, Wisconsin where they lived and worked for 33 years, and raised their two daughters, Barb and Lisa. Upon retirement in 2000, Teresa and Jim moved to Birchwood, where they have resided ever since.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Helen (Prissel) Sabelko; her sisters, Thelma (Richard) Weisenback, Mildred “Millie” Hubbard; and her brother, Robert (Noreen) Sabelko.

Teresa is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Jim; her daughters, Barb (Russ) Stoffel, Lisa (Russ) Cartwright; her sister, Betty (Frank) Albarado; her brother, Galen (Ellen) Sabelko; her sister, Rita (Randy) Brunner; her brother-in-law, Floyd Hubbard; four grandchildren; and by three great-grandsons; and many much-loved nieces and nephews.

Teresa had her priorities straight: Faith, Family, Friends. She was just the sweetest lady, who liked everyone she met

and they couldn’t help but like her. She will be terribly missed by family, friends and especially Jim, her sweetheart since

the 8th grade.

A Mass of Christian Burial and reception will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Birchwood, Wisconsin with visitation one hour prior to the time of the service at church. Interment will take place at a later date at Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery, Lima Township, Durand WI.

All monetary gifts will in turn be donated to the Birchwood Area Food Pantry.
