Steven Alan Anderson

Steven Alan Anderson, age 63 of Cottage Grove, passed away on March 7, 2023, in the Hospice Care Ward at the Minneapolis VA Medical Center in Minneapolis.

He was born on September 29, 1959, to Mark Kendall and Marjorie Anderson in Geneva, IL. Following his graduation from Ely Memorial High School, Steve continued his education at various colleges to obtain his Doctorate Degree in Computer Science. Steve served his country first in the Army from 1978 to 1982 and finished his military career as an Officer in the Air Force from 1982 to 1999. He was an avid fisherman and especially enjoyed spending time in the Ely area.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and by his siblings, Denise Schweppes and Wes Anderson.

Steve is survived by his son, Steven (Lindsey) Anderson; granddaughter, Lilly Anderson; stepmother, Patricia Anderson; sister, Judy Thompson of Gilbert; and by two nieces and other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Steve's Life will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday, March 16, 2023, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis at 1:00 p.m.
