Stanford "Stan" G. Sorenson

Stan Sorenson, age 66 of Hastings, MN died at home on June 19th, 2024 surrounded by his daughters.

Stan was born on March 16th, 1958 in Clear Lake, SD, to Selmer and Donna Sorenson. The family later moved to Hastings, MN where he graduated high school in 1976. He worked for Smead Manufacturing for 38 years and cherished the friendships that came from his time there. He enjoyed watching sports, spending time at the family cabin in WI, taking trips to Nisswa with friends, and just having a conversation over a beverage with one of his many bar friends.

Above all, his pride and joy were his four daughters. They will remember him for his sense of humor, love of movie one liners, classic rock music and desire to live his life on his own terms.

Stan is survived by his four daughters: Nicole (Ryan) Kroenke, Kristin (Mitch) Leidel, Jenna (Bailey) Siewert and Jackie (Jack) Matecki; seven grandchildren: Parker, Ilse, Tegan, Hazel, Olive, Halle and Charlotte; and eight siblings: Dave (Jan) Sorenson, Pete (Pam) Sorenson, Keith (Rosie) Sorenson, Joyce (Sam) Sorenson, Robert (Rusty) Sorenson, Richard Sorenson, Nona (Greg) Miland and Evonne (Dane) Christensen. He is preceded in death by his parents, Selmer and Donna; his brother-in-law, Andrew Pollard; and nephew, Timothy Sorenson.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, June 26th, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 400 W. 9th Street, Hastings, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. A private family interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery.
