Ericson, Shirley Ruth

Age 94 of Apple Valley, Minnesota, passed away on May 18^th, 2023 at Ecumen Centennial in Apple Valley.

Shirley was born in Arvada, Colorado to Ellen (Russ) and Phillip Hamilton on January 31, 1929. After having lost her father at the age of 4, her family moved back to the family farm outside Maple Plain, Minnesota where she spent the remainder of her childhood years.

In 1951 Shirley married Donald and the couple lived in Goodhue, Minnesota where they had their first two children, Harlan and Susan. Later they moved to Pipestone where they had three more children, Bruce, Terri, and Linda. Shortly thereafter the family moved to Wadena where the family became an integral part of the community and the Wadena Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. In 1979 the couple moved to Mora where the couple continued to be an integral part of community life and Lewis Lake Covenant Church in Ogilvie.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Donald; son, Harlan; brothers, Phillip, Barney, and Robert Hamilton; and sister, Marguerite Storley.

Shirley is survived by her children, Susan (David) Lloyd of Rosemount, Bruce (Marcia) of Dewey, Arizona, Terri Maurer of Anaheim, California, and Linda (Dale) Swartout of Rockledge, Florida; eleven grandchildren; and twenty-one great-grandchildren.

Shirley will be fondly remembered for her delicious garden produce, amazing bakery goodies, warm hospitality, fun-loving spirit, and her love of family, friends, and her Lord, Jesus Christ.

Celebration of Life Service at 11am on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Hope Church, 7477 145^th St. W., Apple Valley, with visitation one hour prior. Interment at Lewis Cemetery in Maple Plain.
