Sherral L. Mamer, age 70 of Hastings, died peacefully on Friday evening, March 3, 2023, following a lengthy illness.
Sherral Lavonn, the daughter of Claris and Emma (Leonard) Couchman, was born on December 16, 1952, in Seymour, Iowa. Following her graduation from Iowa School for the Deaf in Council Bluffs, Iowa, Sherral continued her education at St. Paul Technical Vocational Institute. After meeting Roger Mamer at a bowling gathering for the deaf, they were later married on August 5, 1978, in Corydon, Iowa. Sherral was a longtime employee of thirty-four years at Blue Cross Blue Shield, and enjoyed the many friendships she made over the years. Outside of work, Sherral enjoyed making customized cards to send to family and friends, and truly loved crosstiching and a good puzzle. She was also known for her love of tending to her flower gardens, camping, and spending time with her dog Molly who is now sixteen. She and Roger were active members of the Minnesota Deaf Senior Citizens where they enjoyed participating in many events over the years.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Sherral is survived by her husband, Roger; sisters, Sandra and Sharon; the extended Mamer Family; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A Celebration of Sherral's Life will be held from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Sunday, March 12, 2023, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings. Private family interment will be held at a later date.
