Scott Nelson

Roy Scott Nelson, age 78 of Cannon Falls, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and friends in his home on Sunday, July 16, 2023.

Scott was born on April 13, 1945 to parents Roy and Marjorie (Hohenhaus) Nelson. He graduated from Faribault High School in 1963 and later worked for Sears for 32 years. Scott married the love of his life Linda in 1967 and they raised three beautiful children together, Eric, Elizabeth and Allison. In October of 1995 Scott and Linda purchased the Trophy House restaurant in New Trier. His favorite spot in the restaurant was serving behind the bar because of all of the locals and friends he was able to socialize with.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Marjorie Nelson.

Scott is survived by his wife, Linda; children, Eric, Elizabeth and Allison; grandchildren, Scott Worrell, Sophia Worrell, and Alivia Strusz; brothers, Alano "Lon" (Reatha) Nelson, Lynn (Barbara) Nelson; and dog, Stella.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel in Hastings, with Father Tix officiating. Interment will be held at St. Michaels Cemetery in Kenyon, MN at a later date.

Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday, July 24, 2023, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel and also an hour prior to the service. A reception will be immediately following the service on Tuesday.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Trier, MN.
