Ronald LeRoy Stark, a lifelong resident of Prescott, went home to his Lord on December 27, 2023. He died peacefully at home after spending a wonderful Christmas Day with his family.
Ronald was born October 26, 1932, in Prescott, WI, the son of Hilbert and Luella (Simon) Stark and was raised on the family farm in Clifton Township. He graduated from Prescott High School in 1950 and served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954. On June 1, 1957, he married Judith Ann Boardman of Kansas City, MO.
Ron was a very active member of the Prescott community. He served on the Prescott City Council and the Prescott School Board. He worked for 42 years for 3M in Cottage Grove, MN. After his retirement, he enjoyed being the "stats guy" for the PHS Cardinal baseball team. Baseball was his passion, and he was a lifelong Milwaukee/Atlanta Braves fan. He was also a diehard Packer Backer.
One of Ron's biggest "claims to fame" was maintaining on of the best-looking yards in the city. He loved to take care of his lawn and flowers. His annual meticulous Christmas light decoration of his home was also a favorite that he loved to share with the community.
Ron's proudest times were cheering on his two grandsons as they played sports. He also enjoyed supporting all the local teams that played on the diamond and hardwood court.
He is survived by his two daughters, Rene Stark and Amanda (Michael) Matzek, both from Prescott, along with his two grandsons Bennett and Jackson Matzek. In addition are his two nieces, Cindy (Dennis) Klatt of New Hope, MN and Tammy (David) Murphy of River Falls, WI, two nephews, Scott (Lisa) Most of River Falls, WI and Jason (Amy) Fierke of Sylvana, WA, and his brother-in-law Eugene Fierke of Marysville, WA. Also surviving him are two great-nieces, seven great-nephews, one great great-niece and five great great-nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Judith and both of his parents, twin brother, Donald and two sisters, Betty Most and Mary Fierke.
A visitation for Ron will be held on January 2, 2023 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Saint Paul's Lutheran Church in Prescott.
