Robert M. "Bob" Reinardy

Robert M. "Bob" Reinardy, age 76, of New Trier, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family following a recent illness on Wednesday morning, December 11, 2024.

Robert Michael, the son of Adolph and Lorraine (Wahlstrom) Reinardy, was born in Farmington on December 17, 1947. Bob grew up on the family farm in rural Hampton and attended St. Mathias Catholic School. In 1965, Bob enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served until being Honorably Discharged on October 16, 1967. On June 10, 1972, Bob was united in marriage to Karen M. Fox at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Miesville. They were blessed with fifty-two years of marriage and three children: Christopher, Kimberly, and Kent. Bob and Karen were dedicated members of St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Trier.

Following his discharge from the Navy, Bob returned home and began his longtime career in accounting. He retired from Hastings School District 200 in 2015, and after retirement, continued to enjoy working in accounts payable for Minnesota Coaches, where he cherished the many connections he made with people. Bob also worked as a part-time bartender for over 40 years at The Trophy House in New Trier, where he became a familiar and friendly face to many and Bob always had time for a good joke.

Bob had a deep love for his family and faith. Outside of his work, he could often be found volunteering at church, singing in the church choir, tending to his garden, and tinkering around on his property. He loved baseball and took great joy in supporting his grandchildren in their sports and schooling. His family was his greatest joy, and he was always there to cheer them on.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gary and Ronald; and brother-in-law, John Endres.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; children, Chris (Sharon) Reinardy, Kim Geiken (Cody Hoff), and Kent (Natalie) Reinardy; grandchildren, Cheyenne, Gabrielle, Isabelle, McKenna, Carson, and Griffin; siblings, James (Gina) Reinardy, Marlin (Marlene) Reinardy, Marian Endres, and Joyce (Leo) Nicolai; sister-in-law’s, Pat Reinardy and Rita Fox; brother-in-law, Wayne (Ruth) Fox; many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 16, 2024, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Trier, with Father Michael Tix officiating. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Miesville.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings, and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday morning.
