Robert L. Frembgen, age 89, of Hastings, MN passed away peacefully at home on May 29, 2024
He was born March 23, 1935, in Hartley, IA, the youngest son of Leo and Agnes Frembgen. He grew up in Hartley where he met and wed Shirley Kamradt. Together, they had four children, Cynthia, Rick, Daniel, and Ryan. He worked for Mid-America Pipeline for 32 years starting in Sanborn, IA and later transferring to Hastings in 1968. He retired in 1996. He always claimed Hastings as his home, but loved spending winters at Carriage Manor Resort in Mesa, AZ.
Bob enjoyed cars, woodworking, stained glass, repairing items, landscaping, being with friends and family, and especially a good conversion.
Bob is survived by his wife of 68 years, Shirley; children, Cindy Seleski, Rick (Brenda) Frembgen, Dan (Laurie) Frembgen, and Ryan Frembgen; grandchildren, Angela (Tim) Frederick, Rachel (Ed) Johnson, Josh (Bobbi) Seleski, Rebekah Seleski, Bre’ (Wes) Lacey, Tia (Leah) Frembgen, Brogan Frembgen, Hannah (Austin) Beck; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Agnes Frembgen; sister, Ruth Sorensen; and brother, Kenneth Frembgen.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Allina Hospice for their loving care and support.
In memory of Bob, memorial contributions may be made to Hastings Family Service, Hastings Senior Center, or Meals on Wheels.
A funeral service will be held at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion Street, Hastings, MN 55033, on Monday, June 10, 2024, at 11:00 am. A visitation will precede the service from 9:30 am until the time of the service.
