Robert J. "Bob" Stoffel

Robert “Bob” John Stoffel, age 88 of Hastings, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, on September 1, 2024.

Bob was born in Hastings to Raymond and Florence on July 23, 1936. He attended St. Boniface school and worked as an oil blender for Cenex for 31 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, playing cards, Minnesota Viking games, coffee with special friends, weekends at the cabin, and traveling.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Sr. and Florence; grandson, Kody Robert McGrath; and other family members, John Braun, Betty Nicklay, Cecilia Nicklay, Wayne Nicklay, Roger Stoffel, Raymond Stoffel Jr., and Bill Jacobson.

Bob is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy; daughters, Diane (Willie) McGrath, Donna (Gary) Bauer, Darlene (Tom) Ohlhauser; siblings, Mary Braun, Ronald, Elaine (Alan) Duerr, Ralph (friend Barb), Lorraine “Chubby” (Mike) McGowan, Janice (Ken) Huber, Richard (Cheryl) Stoffel, Rollie (Sharon) Stoffel; and sister-in-law, Linda Stoffel.7 grandchildren, Janna, Chris, Justin, Kyle, Kameron, Dylan, Dustin; 13 great grandchildren; and many extended family members.

A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 9, 2024, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings, with Gordon Gathright officiating. Interment with Military Honors provided by the Lyle Russell Post 1210 will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery in Hastings.

Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, and to a reception following the burial, all at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
