Rita A. (Meier) Reinardy

Rita A. Reinardy, age 79 of Hastings, died peacefully at home following a brief illness on Sunday morning, August 20, 2023.

Rita Ann, the daughter of Mathias and Rose (Beissel) Meier, was born on February 15, 1944, in Hastings. Following her graduation from Hastings High School, Rita was united in marriage to Leroy "Peewee" Reinardy on May 29, 1965, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Hastings. Rita was a longtime employee at H.D. Hudson Mfg., where she worked until her retirement. Rita enjoyed playing video poker at TI, tending to her flower gardens, and watching the Minnesota Vikings. She was also an avid reader, especially romance novels. Most of all, Rita cherished the time she spent with family, especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and by her siblings, Hildegard, Donald, Bernice, Othmar, Gordon, and Martha.

Rita is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Peewee; children, Donna (Steve) Partington and Rick Reinardy; grandchildren, Justin (Natalie) Partington, Jordan (Devyn) Partington, and Megan (Christian) Perkowski; great grandchildren, Myckenna, Emmytt, and Blayr; siblings, Florence (Bob) Pirrung, Pete Meier, Dorothy (Rod) Smith, Harold (Sheryl) Meier, and Jeannie (Mitch) Harrington; and by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In keeping with Rita's wishes, a private family memorial service will be held.
