Richard S. Bond, age 82 of Hastings, died peacefully at home on Thursday afternoon, June 27, 2024.
Richard Steven, the son of Marvin and Edna (Rowley) Bond, was born on March 30, 1942, in Jackson, Minnesota. Following his graduation from Jackson High School with the class of 1960, Richard served in the Army Reserves before joining his father in the sewer construction industry and later moved to the metro area. On January 19, 1963, he was united in marriage to Lois Smith and she later preceded him in death in 1987. Richard was a longtime commercial carpenter with United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. He enjoyed traveling, camping, trips to the casino, and most recently, watching Netflix.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois; brothers, David (Joan) Bond and Bill (Rosemary) Bond; and by his brother-in-law, Pete Garber.
Richard is survived by his children, Karen (John) Anderson and Steven (Mindy) Bond; grandchildren, John (Whitney) Anderson, Joseph Bond, Jessica (Austin) Fisk, and Nicolle (Charlie) Weber; great grandchildren, Owen, Liam, and Levi Anderson, Piper Fisk, and Adalynn Weber; siblings, Maxine Garber, Catherine (Dale) Kuhl, Mark (Becky) Bond, and Brad (Marlene) Bond; and by many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m, Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings, with Rev. Lloyd Menke officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeside Cemetery in Hastings.
Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation for one hour prior to the service on Saturday morning.
