Richard P. Stevens

Richard P. Stevens, "Itchy", 67, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at Regions Hospital in St. Paul.

Richard Paul Stevens was born on a sunny, breezy, 50 degree day at St. John's Hospital in Red Wing, Minnesota to Eleanor "Tiny" and Raymond Stevens. He was welcomed into his family by his sister Sharon Rae, brothers, Michael and Patrick Stevens.

Richard grew up in Hastings, Minnesota where he attended Guardian Angels Catholic Elementary School and graduated from Hastings High School in 1973. Richard, "Itchy", as he came to be known, loved playing slow-pitch softball with the Buccaneer team for many years, watching drag racing and fishing on Lake Rebecca in small boat. His pride and joy was his 1970 Dodge Challenger Trans Am with a six pack. Itchy, along with his nephew Tom, friend, nick along with many others, loved to attend drag races at the Brainerd International Raceway. He liked working and hanging out this his buddy Whitey, at his shop on weekends. Uncle Itchy was very happy hanging out with his many nieces and nephews at family functions.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Tiny Stevens; nieces-in-law, Karen (Frandrup) Murray, Kathryn (Sieben) Murray; nephew-in-law, John Landmeyer, and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is survived by his Sister, Sharon (Warren) Murray & family; brother, Michael (Fifi) Stevens & family, and brother Patrick (Shelly) Stevens & family.

Richard never married and had no children, but was loved by a huge family and hundreds of friends.

A visitation will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, December 19, 2022 at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel with a prayer service starting at 3:00 P.M. Interment at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery will follow the prayer service.
