Richard "Dick" Vretstrom

Richard A. Vretstrom, age 75 of Hastings, passed away June 2, 2022 at United Hospital in Saint Paul. Dick had a passion for hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed sharing recipes and cooking for those he cared for. Dick was united in marriage to Joanne Swoboda at St. Agatha's Catholic Church in Coates on June 24, 1972. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Joanne; parents, Esther and Claus Vretstrom; siblings, Thomas Vretstrom, Doris (Vernon) Berger, Betty (Milton) Rogalla, and Joanne (Gerald) Fercello; nephew, Thomas Fercello; niece, Nancy Laddusire; sister-in-law, Jane Sterba-Swoboda. Dick is survived by nephews, Scott Peterson, and Aaron (Tracy) Peterson; nieces, Jenny Peterson, Megen (Mike) Dow, Nicole (Carlos) Quintanilla, Jackie (Don) Jenson, and Susan Berger; brother-in-law, Ken Sterba; sister-in-law, Judy (Don) Peterson; great nieces, great nephews, and by many other relatives, and friends. Private family services to be held at a later date. Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
