Richard “Dick” C. Zuzek, a devoted family man and cherished veteran, passed away peacefully at the age of 94 on October 30, 2024, at Cannon Rivers Assisted Living in Cannon Falls, MN.
Born on August 7, 1930, to William and Ernestine (Schanno) Zuzek in Hastings, MN, Dick led a full life alongside his wife Sandy for 46 years, who passed away in 2001. She was the only woman he ever loved.
He is survived by his two children, Deb (Donnie) McMillan and Lori (Ross) McWaters; four grandchildren, Nathan (Percilia) Langenfeld, Justin (Shannon) Langenfeld, Katrina Bostick-Langenfeld, and Natalie McWaters; five great-grandchildren, Ava, Maya, Grayson, Piper, and Iyla; as well as brothers, William “Red” Zuzek and James “Jimmy” (Mary) Sanders; a sister, Elaine “Sis” Sanders; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, William and Ernestine Zuzek, his wife Sandy Zuzek, and a great-grandchild, Aspen Jo. His family was his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
A proud member of the American Legion, Dick served in the US Air Force and was a true patriot. He dedicated 38 years of his career to King-Midas Flour Mill as a boilermaker.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 am on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 615 Vermillion St., Hastings, MN 55033, with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will take place at St. Luke’s Episcopal Cemetery with full military honors.
