Nicholas "Nick" P. Stein

Nicholas "Nick" P. Stein age 93 of Cannon Falls, formerly of Hampton, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones October 20, 2022 at Saint Mary's Hospital, Rochester, MN.

Nicholas was born on August 23, 1929 to Mathias & Magdalena (Feidt) Stein of New Trier. On November 3, 1956 he married Annette (Langenfeld) in Hastings, MN. Nick started farming at an early age after the passing of his father, and continued throughout his life. Along with farming all day, he worked nights at the Peavey Mill. Nick was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He enjoyed traveling with Annette, storytelling, and coffee time with his buddies. After retirement, he actively enjoyed helping his son, Nicky, with any and all farming activities. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Above all, he enjoyed spending time spent with his grandkids. Everyone will always remember his laugh.

Preceded in death by his parents, Mathias & Magdalena Stein; brothers, Norbert Stein and Joseph Stein; son, Nick Jr. Stein.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Annette; children, Linda (Dave) Weinhandl, Dale (Arlene) Stein, Sharon (Leroy) Bauer; daughter-in-law, Lori Stein; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Otto; sister-in-laws, Kathleen Stein and Louella Stein; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A wake will be held Tuesday, October 25 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, Hastings. A mass of Christian burial will be Wednesday, October 26 at 11:00 AM at Saint Mathias Catholic Church, Hampton, MN with a visitation one hour prior. Interment will take place immediately after the service at Saint Mathias Catholic Cemetery.
