Myra G. (Moser) Childs

Myra G. (Moser) Childs, age 79 of Cannon Falls, died peacefully at The Terrace at Cannon Falls on Wednesday morning, December 7, 2022.

Myra Gail, the daughter of John and Abigail (Flynn) Moser, was born on November 2, 1943, in St. Paul, Minnesota. Following her graduation from Simley High School in South St. Paul, Myra continued her education at beauty school and later co-owned The Beauty Bowl with her aunt Blondie. On February 19, 1966, she was united in marriage to Michael Childs Sr. at Church of St. Joseph in Miesville, and they later divorced. Myra loved animals and enjoyed collecting antiques. Outside of the beauty shop, Myra enjoyed working as a CNA at Red Wing Health Center, being a security guard at Island Bingo, and was always busy cleaning homes and churches as well. She was a very kindhearted lady who was often a mother to many, and was often known to have a sense of humor along the way. Myra was also a very tough and stern woman who helped defend and educate people about important topics that were often not discussed, especially in the school systems. She was truly passionate about educating communities on the history of the Dakota Tribe.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John Moser; family friend, Darren Dow; and by her brother-in-law, Vince Lascewski.

Myra is survived by her children, Margo (Mark Sr.) Bellanger, Michael Jr. (Wendy) Childs, Matthew (Amy) Childs, and Marshal Childs; twelve grandchildren, Darren Childs, Marissa Rice, Suzelle Bellanger, Miranda Rice, Markie Bellanger, Mark Bellanger Jr., Michael Childs III, Ally Childs, Emmy Childs, Jaime Hageman, Dylan Hageman, Chase Childs, Shelby Childs, and Caleb Childs; ten great grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth "Betty" (Moser) Lascewski; and by many other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Myra's Life will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 27, 2022, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
