Michael "Mike" Plaster

Michael K. "Mike" Plaster, age 74 of Eagan, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday evening, December 18, 2023.

Michael Kevin, the son of Arthur and Jeannette (Bauman) Plaster, was born in St. Paul on May 21, 1949. At the age of five, Mike was fostered by Frank and Ivedell O'Brien which led to a life-long family bond. Mike attended Hastings High School, and later DCTC, where he was introduced to his passion of truck driving. Mike was a longtime over-the-road trucker, and at one point, a dispatcher while he was raising his children alone. On March 1, 2003, Mike was united in marriage to the love of his life, Linda "Lynn" Tolles, and they cherished the chance to become a large family.

Mike was a very loving, humble person, and was simply known as a great man to all that knew him. He enjoyed working on cars and trucks, and was an avid sports fan, especially MN Wild, Twins, and Nascar. Mike will forever be known for his incredible hair. Most of all, Mike loved his immediate family, and cherished the time spent together.

As Mike would say, "it's not a goodbye, it's a see ya later."

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Christoper; and by siblings, Bill Plaster, Terry Plaster, Georgia Plaster, Kerry Flom, Kevin O'Brien, and Kenneth O'Brien.

Mike is survived by his wife, Lynn; children, Sue Franzen, Jeffrey Plaster, Amber Morarie, Brett Plaster, Katrina (Andrew) Grosshuesch, Michael Howell, Ivan (Susan) Posthumus, Donnie Posthumus, Cindi (Fred) Puente, Kelli (Kit) Lukas, and his granddaughter, Arianna Posthumus, who Mike was fortunate to raise; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Kathy (Gary) Fox; and by many other relatives and friends.

Mike's family would like to express our gratitude to the staff of Minnesota Oncology, especially Dr. Ben Zhang, for their exceptional care and support during his battle with illness. We would also like to extend our sincere appreciation to the compassionate and dedicated staff at Hospice Minnesota for their kindness and unwavering care during his final days. Their professionalism and compassion provided comfort to Michael and our family during this difficult time. We are forever grateful for their unwavering support and dedication.

A Celebration of Mike's Life will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 28, 2023, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings, with Gordon Gathright officiating.

Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
