Michael "Mike" J. Serres

It is with immense sadness in our hearts to announce that Michael J. Serres, age 57 of Hampton, passed away unexpectedly at Regina Hospital in Hastings on Sunday afternoon, November 5, 2023.

Mike was born on November 9, 1965, to Donald and Patricia Serres in Red Wing, MN. He graduated from Hastings High School, and proceeded to attend aviation mechanic school in Winona. Upon graduation, he went on to start farming in New Trier, MN. On October 30, 1999 he was united in marriage to Rebecca Butterfield. On August 16, 2001, they were given one of his biggest blessings in life, their daughter Katie. He continued to farm throughout his life, and loved hunting. He will be deeply missed by many.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents; and girlfriend Terri Stephenson. He is survived by his daughter Katie Serres; siblings Carole "Snooky" (Jim) Lindberg, Kathy (Rick) Reamer, Alan (Jill) Serres; and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 10, 2023, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Trier, with Father Michael Tix officiating. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery Friday afternoon.

Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m, and to a reception immediately following the mass, all at church on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred in memory of Mike.
