Mary-Lou Allington

Mary-Lou Allington, 70, of Hastings, formerly of Prescott and Janesville WI, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly in Hastings on February 19, 2023.

She was born on October 23, 1952 to Merlin and Helen (Hauri) Sagen in Janesville, Wisconsin. Mary-Lou grew up in Janesville and graduated from Craig High School in Janesville with the class of 1970.

After graduation, Mary-Lou moved to Minneapolis and eventually married Bill Allington in 1972, and together raised 5 children, Stacey, Tim, Jenny, Jeremy, Michael.

Mary-Lou loved being a bank teller in Minneapolis at the IDS tower, a florist at Ptacek's, and truly loved her time at the library in Prescott. Her favorite job was watching her grandchildren every chance she could.

She enjoyed time at the library, gardening her beautiful flowers and vegetables, working on her projects, and being around her family. Mary-Lou loved her family with all her heart. Her caring and strong soul will be deeply missed.

Mary-Lou is survived by her children, Stacey (Cory Langenfeld) Smith, Tim (Kelly) Allington, Jenny (Adam) Meyers, Jeremy (Monique) Allington, Michael (Kimberly) Allington; grandchildren, Lexy, Karlee, Zander, Delaney, Benjamin, Ryan, Collin, Brooke, Stella, Evie, Nora; siblings, Sandee (Steve) Knipprath, Cathie (Dick) Anderson, David Sagen, Rick Sagen, and JoDee Sagen and Sheli "Cricket" (Matt) Carroll; former spouse and lifelong friend, Bill Allington and other dear relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Kimberly Sagen and significant other, Gerard Hauer.

A Celebration of Life will be from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm Saturday, February 25 at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel in Hastings. Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings is assisting the family.
