Marie A. Hayek

Marie A. Hayek, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 28, 2024.

Marie was born on June 18, 1937, in St. Paul, Minnesota, to Kenneth and Alice Coleman. Marie brought joy and laughter to the lives of those around her with her fun-loving nature and genuine love for people.

Marie's greatest joy in life was her family. She married the love of her life, George, on June 16, 1956, and together they raised five beautiful children. As a devoted mother, Marie took immense pride in nurturing and guiding her children, Michele Starkey, Michael Hayek (Radka Choumakova), Melissa (Timothy) Ozorio, Matthew (Lynn) Hayek, and Monica Holly (Eric) Waker. She cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother, creating amazing memories with them.

Marie's warm and loving spirit touched the hearts of all who knew her. She had a special way of making everyone feel valued and cherished. The legacy of her love, kindness and compassion will continue to inspire us all.

Marie is preceded in death by her beloved husband, George, and her parents, Kenneth and Alice, her bother Rick, three brothers-in-law (Roger, John and Ed) and one sister-in-law, Irene. While our hearts are heavy with grief, we find solace in knowing that Marie is now reunited with her loved ones.

A Celebration of Life for Marie will be held on Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the Community Room at Oak Meadows Senior Living, 8133 4th St. N., Oakdale, MN 55128. Luncheon and fellowship to follow with burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at 1:45 p.m.
