Margaret Nicholas, 82, formerly of Hastings, passed away Thursday, Aug. 17, 2023, at Harmony House in Pierz, Minnesota.
She was born October 3, 1940, to Kenneth and Iva (Hennessey) Lambert in Osage, IA and moved to Hillman, MN in 1950. After graduating from Onamia High School, she went on to earn a nursing degree. In 1964, she entered the U.S. Air Force as a nurse and served for 8 years, reaching the rank of Captain.
She met William Nicholas while both were stationed at Zaragoza Air Base in Spain. They were married for 51 years and moved from Spain, Germany, Illinois, and finally Minnesota while raising their family. She lived in Hastings from 1993 until moving into Harmony House in June 2023 for hospice care.
Survivors include her husband, William; three children, Gary, Kenneth, and Elizabeth; and six siblings, Rosemary Mischke, Gertrude Lambert, Virginia "Ginny" Tembreull, Rita Boyce, and William Lambert.
Funeral Service was 11 a.m. Saturday September 2nd at St. Rita's Catholic Church in Hillman.
