Lynn C. Wickenhouser

Lynn C. Wickenhouser, age 79, of Hastings, MN, passed away on May 24, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Lynn was born on August 27, 1944, to Richard and Linnea (Johnson) Boyer in St. Paul, MN. She grew up in Oakdale and later met and wed Gary Wickenhouser. Together, they raised their two children, Paul and Chantel, in Cottage Grove, MN.

Lynn was a woman who embraced adventure and travel, always seeking out fun experiences with her children and grandchildren. Whether it was riding roller coasters or tubing, Lynn cherished these moments of joy and laughter. Her fun spirit and enthusiasm for making memories will forever be remembered by those who loved her. Lynn was a devoted mother who believed in creating a welcoming home, filled with love and laughter. She cherished her beloved dog (Corkie), chickens, donkey and farm animals, finding joy in gardening and playing cribbage with friends and grandchildren for a dollar per game. She loved cheering on the Hastings wrestling team, known to all by just “Grandma “. After bravely facing a terminal cancer diagnosis with less than six months to live, Lynn embraced life to its fullest all while undergoing chemotherapy for over 20 years.

She is survived by her children, Paul Wickenhouser and Chantel (Stephen) Beying; grandchildren: Tony Wickenhouser, Alyssa (Devon) Freeman, Maggie Wickenhouser, Stephen “Tre”Beying, Garrett Beying, Bryce Beying, Cody, Mikayla, and Desiree Boyer; brother, Paul (Jo) Boyer; niece, Joan (Chris) Stahlman, Many special nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, husband Gary Wickenhouser, brother Steve Boyer, and nephews Mark, Danny Sicard Steve Wickenhauser and niece Jane Wickenhauser.

A celebration of life will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion St, Hastings, MN 55033, with visitation starting 2 hours prior to the service from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. A Burial at Union Cemetery in Maplewood will take place at a later date.
