Leon "Lee" Diersen

Leon "Lee" B. Diersen, 76, of Hastings passed away on March 20, 2022.

He was born June 22, 1946 to Ernest and Anna (Kuehl) Diersen in Gaylord, Minnesota.

Lee graduated from Le Sueur High School and enlisted into the United States Air Force and was stationed in Labrador, Canada. He worked early in his life as an over the road trucker, then spent over 30 years working as the Bridge Tender at the Hastings lift bridge for the Canadian Pacific Railroad.

Lee enjoyed hunting, especially his favorite game animals deer and grouse, fishing and 4-wheeling in northern Minnesota with family and friends. He also valued his time in the Chippewa National Forest area. Lee loved his granddaughters, Autumn and Summer were his pride and joy in life.

He is survived by his son, Christopher (Nicole) Diersen; granddaughters, Autumn Diersen and Summer Diersen; brother, Armin (Emily) Diersen, sister-in-law, Sally Diersen and other friends and relatives.

Leon was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest (Anna Kuehl) Diersen and brother, Julius Diersen.

An open house will be from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm Saturday, April 1st at the Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel in Hastings, with Military Honors beginning at 1:00 pm.

Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel will be assisting the family.
