Laurie A. Myers

Laurie Myers, 60, of Hastings passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022 at University of Minnesota Hospital, with family by her side. This was after many,many doctor visits there and life long health issues. Her family would like to thank the medical staff there for the wonderful care Laurie received throughout her life. Laurie was born March 7, 1962 to Al and Dolores (Grotjohn)Myers in Hastings, Minnesota and graduated from Hastings High School in 1981. For most of her beautiful life, Laurie and her Mom were never without one another. They are now together forever. Laurie Loved helping at her church with the salad luncheons and the Thursday night dinners, then later just attending.She enjoyed babysitting for the nieces and nephews and then later just being with them. Laurie was a walker, she enjoyed a 5 mile walk daily for very many years no matter the weather. In 2007 Laurie and several family members joined the annual Mothers Day Race for the Cure, making it a fun outing. She loved all the free stuff you got if you went early. Laurie loved swimming and summer time at cabins with the family. She loved coffee and her weekly coffee get togethers. She loved playing bingo on Monday nights at her apartment. Every Monday night we would get a group text at approximately 8:30 saying no win tonight or I won 5.85 or whatever tonight. She loved going to Red Lobster for her birthday. Laurie is survived by her siblings, Gloria (George) Murphy, Charlene Martin, Pam (Ken) Fritz, David (Lily) Myers, Gary (Cheryl) Myers, Bob (Linda) Myers, Kevin (Mary) Myers, Lynn Hanken; many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles, and extended family. Laurie’s favorite color was pink so in her honor please wear pink to her service. Memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, June 10, at Resurrection United Methodist Church of Hastings, with visitation 9:30 to 11:00am prior to the service.
