Kristine "Kris" Dotson

Kristine "Kris" Dotson, 67, of Hastings passed with family by her side on June 18, 2023 at United Hospital from breast cancer.

She was born in Stillwater, Minnesota to Donal and Nora (Krenske) Swenberg on July 18, 1955. Kris grew up in Stillwater and Sunset, Utah, and graduated from Clearfield High School in 1973.

Kris attended the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities and received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Horticulture.

“In 1985 she met her husband to be, Jerry Dotson, on a blind date at Brines in Stillwater. On August 29th, 1986 they married in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Together they raised their daughter, Jenny.”

Kris spent her working career as an office management and human resource representative..

Kristine enjoyed being a mother and was supportive and caring. Jerry and Kris were season ticket holders for the MN Wild and she also enjoyed golfing, gardening, walking, playing cards, and attending theatre! She was a dedicated and active member at Our Saviour's Lutheran in Hastings and had a strong faith. She also was a wonderful dog mom over the years to Ollie, Will, Eric and Nick. Kris's eccentric laugh and joyous personality will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Jerry; daughter, Jenny Dotson; brother, Bill (Martha) Swenberg; dog, Will; and other dear friends and relatives.

Memorial service will be 11:00 am Monday June 26 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church of Hastings with Visitation one hour prior. Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel is assisting the family.
