Kim M. Bromberek, age 67, of Welch, MN, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at Kinnic Health and Rehab in River Falls, Wisconsin.
Born on May 14, 1957, in Joliet, IL, to George Jr. and Angeline (Nona) Bromberek, Kim grew up alongside her brother Ronald. In 1978, she moved with her family to Welch, MN, where she lived a life marked by compassion, adventure, and love for her community. Kim had a profound love for crafting, an affection for animals, especially German Shepherds, and a passion for travel that took her to many corners of the world.
Having worked as a secretary for various airlines, Kim was afforded the opportunity to travel extensively, a passion that deeply enriched her life. However, her heart always remained with the community, especially the children. She lent her talents to teaching CCD starting at St. Boniface Catholic Church and then First Communion at St. Joseph for a total of 37 years. She also crochet many baby blankets for TLC and volunteered at SEAS for a support group helping children going through grief.
Kim was described by those who knew her as a quiet person as well as a spitfire, who could command the attention of any room, yet she possessed a sweetness and caring nature that touched the lives of many. She professed vows for Third Order of Franciscan in 1987. While a member, she spent time in prayer and doing community service. She enjoyed hosting meetings at her home which also doubled as tea parties despite her humorous distaste for tea itself.
Her love for animals was evident in the many pets she rescued and cared for throughout her life, demonstrating her kindhearted and nurturing spirit.
She is survived by her brother, Ronald (Josephine) Bromberek; nephew, Scott (Robin) Bromberek; niece, Ramona (Jimmy) Adekunmisi; great-nieces, Mary, Joan, and Kora; great-nephew, Nikolas; alongside other relatives, God children and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and the many pets she held dear.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 18, 2024, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 23955 Niccolai Ave, Hastings, MN 55033. Visitation will occur one hour prior to the Mass at 10:00 AM. Following a reception, burial will take place at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Cemetery in Hastings.
The family would like to express gratitude to Kinnic Health and Rehab staff for encouraging Kim to continue using and sharing her gifts and talents with everyone she met while a resident.
