Keith H. Benson

Keith H. Benson age 74 of Hastings passed away October, 28 2022 at United Hospital, St. Paul, MN.

Keith was born March 27, 1948 in Saint James, MN. He proudly served his country in the United State Air Force and served one tour in Vietnam. During his time, he was stationed in Minot, ND. After his service, he moved back to Saint James in 1972 where he and Patricia raised their family. During his time in Saint James, he began his career on the railroad until his retirement in the mid 2000's. The railroad brought him to Hastings in 1992 where he and Patricia lived for the remainder of their lives. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, spending time with his grandkids and attending all of their sporting events. He also enjoyed traveling to Florida and other destinations with close friends. He also enjoyed playing cards and socializing with friends. He was an active member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church where he attended Men's Group.

Preceded in death by his loving wife of 49 years, Patricia; parents, Kenneth & Mary Jane Benson; brother, Kevin (Leanne) Benson; sister-in-law, Judy Benson.

He is survived by his children, Kyle (Cindy) Benson, Gina (Trevor) Spoo; grandkids, Cole & McKenna Benson, and Karsen, Brennen, Hugo, and Grady Spoo; siblings, Steve Benson, Kathy (Mike) Turtle, Jeff (Bernice) Benson; niece, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A celebration of Keith's life will be held Thursday, November 3rd at 11:00 AM at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, Hastings with visitation one hour prior. Burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery will take place in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
