It is with deep sorrow that we announce Kay E. Gudmunson, age 79, of Hastings, Minnesota passed away at home on November 5, 2023. She was born on October 14, 1944 to Ellen and Charles Colombo. On June 27, 1970, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Leonard Gudmunson, and they were blessed with 3 beautiful children. She was the heart of our family, and we will miss her for all of our days to come.
Kay is preceded in death by her parents Ellen and Charles; and sister Karen Colombo.
She is survived by her loving husband, Leonard; children Kim (Joe) Pond, Erik (Sheless) Gudmunson, Scott (Vicki Truesdell) Gudmunson, brother Chuck (Vicki) Colombo; grandchildren Austin, Jasmine, Jaxon, Mya, Madeline, Clara, Kaitlin, Matthew; and many other friends and family.
An Open House honoring the life of Kay will be held at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel in Hastings, on Friday, November 17th from 3-6 p.m., with a time of sharing at 4:30 pm. A private burial will be held at a later date at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
