Judith “Judy” Ann Harrigan, nee Claxton, formerly Jablonski, 85, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at Regina Hospital the morning of March 1, 2023 at age 85. She was born June 23, 1937 in St. Paul, Minnesota
Judy was an amazing woman with a deep faith, a loving heart, and feisty personality. She enjoyed spending time with her large, blended family and loving friends.
The oldest of four herself, Judy was a working mom of three beautiful children who she raised in Cottage Grove together with her first husband. In 1983, Judy met and married her loving husband Marion “Buzz” Harrigan with whom she spent many wonderful years. When her children were young Judy could often be found playing the organ at church or acting in community theater. Ever dedicated to community, later in life she moved to Arizona where was a steadfast member of the American Legion Auxiliary at “her” Post (#105) where she spent time volunteering and giving back to those who served our country. She also often made it possible for family to escape the Minnesota cold and treasured their visits.
Upon returning to Minnesota, she made her home at the Park Ridge Apartments in Hastings, MN where she enjoyed the kindness of the staff, the friendship of the residents, and the fellowship of her dear friend Pastor Gordon. Throughout her life Judy was known by many as the life of the party and loved to entertain and surround herself with good people and good times. Judy will be remembered as a lot of things but, her proudest accomplishment was always being a mother and a grandmother.
Judy is preceded in death by her husband Marion “Buzz” Harrigan; her former husband Thomas Jablonski; bonus daughter Judith Harrigan; sisters Celia Lamb and Jane Kleven; and her parents W. Harold and Helen Claxton.
She is survived by her brother David (Gayle) Claxton; children Gregory (Cora) Jablonski, Virginia (Mark) Olson, Marilyn (James) Lindstrom; bonus children Dan (Linda) Harrigan, Michael (Brenda) Harrigan; grandchildren Christopher (Jennifer) Harrigan, Cory (Dawn) Harrigan, Chad (Sharon) Harrigan, Angie (Eric) Sellers, Christopher (Leanna) Harrigan, Missy (Henry) Hall, Matthew (Cheryl) Young; Trisha (Larry) Verdugo, Amy (Jill) Harrigan, Christopher Olson, Heather (Jason) Murawski; Ruth Ann Jablonski; Megan (Walter) Johnson; Stacy (Rolando) Hodar; Taylor Harrigan; Oliver Jablonski; 18 great grandchildren and one on the way.
