Joseph F. Peterson

Joseph Ferdinand Peterson passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, May 28th in the backyard of the home he shared with the love of his life, Michelle (Ryder) Peterson.

He was born and spent most of his life in Hastings, MN where he raised his three wonderful boys, Jason (Sara), Justin, and Jacob (Laura). He met Michelle in their teens and knew she was his soulmate. He was quiet but silly in his own special way. He spent his time working hard his whole life so that he could enjoy the little things. He was passionate about being a truck driver and spent many years pursuing that passion. He spent most of his weekends listening to music, playing games, grilling, and drinking beer.

He loved and adored his family, siblings, friends and golf group. He especially loved and adored his grandchildren: Bjorn, Elliot, and Knut, his pride and joy. He was also very close to his sister Peggy, brother John and brother-in-law Brian, his best friends. He was so loved and will be deeply missed by so many.

He was preceded in death by Diablo, Pepper, and Smokey, his parents and several siblings and close family members. He is survived by his wife, 3 children, 3 grandchildren, siblings, and his fur-children, Chewy and Hannah.

A Funeral Celebration will be held Friday, June 2, 2023 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion St. in Hastings. Memorials preferred in lieu of flowers.
