Joel E. Kosbab

Joel E. Kosbab age 79 of Woodbury, formerly of Cottage Grove passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones March 2 at home.

Joel was born to Edwin and Esther (Luhman) Kosbab where he was raised in Fairmont. He graduated from Concordia High School, St. Paul. He also attended the University of Minnesota where he received his Bachelors degree. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army where he proudly served in the Vietnam War. After his service, he furthered his education at Mankato State where he earned his Masters degree. Joel enjoyed a long career in accounting.

On May 1, 1971 he married the love of his life, Alice (Meier) Kosbab and shared 48 years together. Joel was a calm, kind man who enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Alice (Meier) Kosbab; grandson, Archer Ralland Polzin.

Joel is survived by his loving daughter, Jillian (Andrew) Polzin; grandchildren, Dylan & Brianna; brother, Lloyd Kosbab; brother-in-law, Steven (Jill) Meier; sister-in-law, Karen (Gary) Greeley.

He is also survived by his sister-in-laws, Veronica Meier, Carol Anderson, and Mary Jo Effenberger, and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

A celebration of Joel's life will be held Sunday, March 26 at 12:00 PM at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel with a visitation one hour prior. Reception to follow the service. Private family interment will take place at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Cemetery.
