Joan was born to Oscar & Ella Radke. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1962. After High School, she went to work for the State of Minnesota for 15 years. Following that, she went to work at Hastings ISD #200 for 21 years, and finishing her working career working at ISD #917 in Rosemount, MN for 10.5 years. Joan was a long time member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She served on the Natural Resources and Recreational Committee in Hastings and also the Hastings City Council. Joan also volunteered for many years on the East Hastings Association. She was laid to rest next to her husband Cecil on February 3, 2023 following a small family gathering.
