Jay A. Holthaus

Jay A. Holthaus, age 63, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on October 15, 2023 at White Pine Advanced Memory Care of Cottage Grove, MN.

Jay Arnold, the son of Arnie & Nancy Holthaus, was born on June 1, 1960 in Onalaska, Wisconsin. Jay graduated from Onalaska High School, class of 1978. He was a multi-sport athlete, playing football, baseball, basketball, and tennis. Jay continued his education at Winona State on a baseball scholarship. Later he continued his athletic pursuits in golfing and bowling on leagues with his wife, Renae.

Jay was united in marriage to Renae Strozinsky, at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in LaCrosse on May 12, 1984. They made their home in Woodbury, Minnesota for the last 33 years. They were blessed with two daughters, Kirsten Carlene & Megan Fay. Jay worked at Genesis Industries in Elmwood, Wisconsin for 18 years as an Animal Health Sales Consultant. In-between traveling for work, he spent his days golfing, boating, cheering on the Packers and the Badgers, and more golfing (LOL).

Preceded in death by his father, Arnie.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Renae; daughters, Kirsten (Chris) Zeller and Megan (Wyatt) Stotts; mother, Nancy Holthaus; siblings, Jeff (Melissa) Holthaus, and JoAnn (Rob) Kranig; his chocolate lab, Cooper; many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of Jay's caregivers and friends at White Pine Advanced Memory Care and Olive Grove Hospice. Your patience and love for Jay will never be forgotten.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church, 410 Main Street in Onalaska, WI. A visitation will be held an hour and a half prior to the service at church. Burial for Jay will take place at a later date.

Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
