Janice M. Cran

Janice Cran, age 87, of Balsam Lake, WI, passed away October 31, 2022 following a brief illness. She was surrounded by family as she passed peacefully.

Jan grew up in Hastings, where she was born on July 9, 1935 to Russell and Rose (Loesch) Welch. She made her home in many states before settling back in Minnesota. She married Gordon Cran in 1999 and moved to Balsam Lake.

Jan lived out her faith in God by selflessly loving and serving others, especially her family and friends. She is known for her gifts of delicious baked goods and amazing meals. She radiated joy and had a zest for life. She loved to travel and experience new things, but her greatest joy was being with her family. She always made it a priority to be there to celebrate big life moments and make them special.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Russ and Rose Welch; sister, Helen (Redding) Allgor; brother, Harold Welch; husbands, Gerald Lofgren and Peter Meyers.

Jan is survived by her loving husband, Gordon Cran; her cherished daughters, Gayle and Dave Wright, Karen Lofgren; her dear grandchildren, Brian and Brianna Wright, Melissa and Tyler Hatcher, Nicholas Fedderly, Kaytlyn and Brent Kummer, Kelly Dybevik and fiancé Tony Cortez; her adored great-grandchildren, Breydon Fedderly, Ryder Storlie; Carson, Parker and Kori Kummer, Nico Wright; stepchildren, Julie and Barry Cran, Melissa Hard; sister, Lois Drometer; sisters-in-law, Delight, Wanda, Christine and Betty; numerous nieces, nephews and many wonderful friends.

The family suggests donations to Crossroads Church Mission trips, Janice Cran Memorial or the mission fund at Christ the King Church (Attn: Finance, Bellingham Campus, 4173 Meridian St., Bellingham, WA 98226; ctk.church/give/).

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Crossroads Church, 225 33rd St W, Hastings, MN 55033. A luncheon will follow.
