James M Haire

James “Jim” Michael Haire,

Age 63 of Eagan, born August 13, 1960 to Jerome & Joanne Haire in Breckenridge, MN, passed away peacefully at home on the night of November 26^th after a courageous 15 month fight with Glioblastoma.

Jim attended grade school in Kent and graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1978. Jim went on to Moorhead State and NDSCS, earning a degree in Computer Science. On August 14th, 1982, he was united in marriage to Mary Jo Raiter. Their home was made between Bismarck, and later, the Twin Cities, raising their two sons, Kyle and Joe in Eagan. Jim worked as a software architect, engineer, and consultant in software development across the Twin Cities over the course of his career.

Jim’s family, friends, and faith were very important to him. He especially enjoyed being able to watch and coach his children and grandchildren in sports. Jim was a lover of baseball, fishing, the MN State Fair, and the occasional slight-of-hand magic trick. As everyone knows, Jim was competitive in nature and had many quick-witted one-liners.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary Jo; two sons, Kyle (Lee) Haire, and Joe (Katie) Haire; grandchildren: Waylon Pahl, Holden Haire, and Arbor Haire; mother, Joanne Haire; siblings: Jane (Rollie) Golay, Bill Haire, Mary (Cam) McCullough, Ann (Tubby) Bandemer, Barb (Matt) Bear, Brian Haire, Tom (Christy) Haire, and Steve (Amanda) Haire, and many, many nieces and nephews.

Jim is preceded in death by his father, Jerome Haire, Jr.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Elizabeth Neil, Dr. Matthew Hunt, their nursing staff, and the incredible teams that supported Jim through his journey. An additional thank you to St. Croix Hospice for their comfort care during Jim’s final months.

Visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm, Monday, December 4th, 2023 with a prayer service at 7pm at Henry W. Anderson Mortuary, 14850 Garrett Ave. in Apple Valley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10am, Tuesday, December 5th, with a visitation one hour before at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 4030 Pilot Knob Rd.  in Eagan.  Jim will be laid to rest at St Thomas Cemetery in Kent, MN at a later date.
