Frank Hofstedt

Frank C. Hofstedt, aged 85, passed away at Oak Ridge Assisted Living May 4, 2024.

He was born Nov 23, 1938, in Wauwatosa, Wi, the eldest son of Ray and Irene Hofstedt. The family settled in Mound MN where he spent his childhood with his three brothers. He resided in Hastings MN for a good portion of his adult life. He always claimed Hastings as his home. He entered into the realm of the kitchen at the young age of 15 and spent his entire career as a chef. Although when asked of his career his answer was, "I played in the kitchen". He worked in several restaurants in MN including long gone ones like The Blue Horse in St. Paul and the Gardner House in Hastings. He retired after many years from the Pool and Yacht Club in Lillydale, MN. He enjoyed watching MN sports, with the Twins and Gopher basketball being his favorites. His ultimate enjoyment in life was golfing. He held a membership with Hidden Greens in Hastings since the early 1980's. He golfed almost daily with his “golf buddies" he later dubbed his "seeing eye dogs", as he said, "It's been a long time since I've seen where the golf ball ends up!" He will be remembered fondly for his smile, giggle and the twinkle in his eyes. Oh, and we can't forget the not so parent friendly songs he taught the grandkids. We will miss him dearly. We love you Dad, Grandpa, Poppa.

Dad, we hope your bushel basket of $20's was waiting for you!

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Irene and brother Ralph.

Frank is survived by his children, Laurie (Randy), Kurt (Jill), Ami (Kevin), and Christopher; grandchildren, Alicia, Franny, Heather, Jenise, Daniel and Douglas; great grandchildren, Annabelle, Calvin, Brooke and Bode Siblings Thomas (Sharon) and Robert (Lynne); and by other relatives and friends.

In keeping with Frank's wishes, a private service will be held for close family and friends to celebrate his memory.

Arrangements are being completed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel of Hastings.
