Faith "Fai" D. Thomson

December 7, 1945 — March 20, 2024

Faith (Fai) D. Thomson, passed away peacefully at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury after a brief illness on March 20, 2024, at the age of 78. Fai was born on December 7, 1945, in Haverhill, MA, to Edmond and Mary (Davis) Thomson.

Fai had a passion for singing and was deeply involved in the Episcopal Church, where she contributed her talents to the choir, altar guild, vestry and various other roles in the church. She dedicated her time to serving as a flag bearer and actively participated in various fundraising and other events for the VFW Auxiliary club in Cumberland, Rhode Island. Fai especially enjoyed hosting gatherings with family and friends, always serving delightful meals and sharing in laughter and good conversation over a glass of wine or two.

She loved animals, especially her cherished collie, Duncan, and her many feline companions, the latest being her beloved Chowder. Fai spent most of her life in Rhode Island. She loved a good fish fry with clam cakes and a beer to wash it down, Yankee Candles, Lime Rickeys, coffee, reading the obits, and Awful Awfuls. Most of all, Fai loved Neil Diamond.

Her welcoming nature extended beyond her home, as she warmly opened her door to all who crossed her path. She had a special place in her heart for the holidays, where she would joyfully play the organ during Christmas celebrations for everyone to join in song.

Fai’s social and meticulous demeanor shone through in her long career as an office manager for two dermatology offices, where her welcoming presence left a lasting impression on all their patients and visitors.

She is survived by her nieces, Phyllis (Bob) Langenfeld of Hastings, MN, and Beth (Tom) Wanamaker of Hastings, MN; nephews, Ken (Nancy) Brown of Clermont, FL, and Steve (Kelle) Brown of Apache Junction, AZ, as well as many other relatives and friends.

Fai is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Malcolm Thomson; sister, Grace D. Brown; and nephew, Pete D. Brown.

Arrangements are being managed by Starkson Family Life Celebration Center, 3075 Vermillion St. Hastings, MN 55033.

Hey Fai! All those years of reading the obits looking for your name? You finally made it!
