Elizabeth "Betty" Gelhar

Elizabeth "Betty" Gelhar, age 87 of Prescott, died peacefully at the River Falls Area Hospital on Saturday morning, August 12, 2023.

Elizabeth was the youngest child of Dennis and Genevieve (Wildes) Molamphy. Betty was born in Hastings September 21st, 1935 and lived on a farm in Ravenna Township until she married Herman Gelhar July 25th, 1959.

Upon graduation from Hastings High School in 1954, she worked at 3M, then in 1970 she went to work for Dakota County - retiring in 1995. She cherished the many good times they had during those years. After retirement Betty and Herman did extensive travelling, several trips to Hawaii and enjoyed 20 winters in Arizona. Golfing was her favorite sport and did a lot of hiking.

Betty is survived by her husband of 64 years, Herman and many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marialice Soleim, Dorothy Mollick and brother, Bernard Molamphy.

A Celebration of Betty's Life will be 11:00am, Monday, August 21 at the Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel in Hastings with a reception to follow.

Family and friends are cordially invited to a visitation for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
