Elisa Rae Norton

Elisa Rae Norton, age 39, of Hastings, passed away unexpectedly on November 18, 2024.

Elisa was born on June 28, 1985 in Hastings, Minnesota to Lesley and Michelle (Chapman) Norton. Graduating from Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf in 2004, she briefly attended Gallaudet University in Washington DC.

Elisa was known for her warm and caring personality and was a devoted and loving mother to her daughter Violette. Elisa positively impacted everyone around her. Despite her extreme fear of insects, she was always sensitive for others, was always creative and imaginative. Elisa actively took a caretaking role whenever possible.

Elisa was very proud of her role in Deaf culture and was always willing to educate and promote American Sign Language with patience and determination for anyone willing and wanting to learn.

Elisa is preceded in death by her grandparents, Donald and Jacqueline Norton and Marvin Chapman.

Elisa is survived by her child, Violette; brother, Cody Norton; parents, Lesley and Michelle (Chapman) Norton; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1-5 p.m. on December 1, 2024 at 1720 Tyler St, Hastings, MN 55033.
