Dorothy A. Macioch

Dorothy A. Macioch, age 83, passed away surrounded by her family on January 19, 2023.

Dorothy was born on August 24, 1939 to Samuel and Leona (Praschak) Emerson. After a friend jokingly made an announcement at Camp Withrow that Dorothy and Tony were getting married in 6 months during Tony's time on leave, he asked her if she wanted to do it and 6 months later she married the love of her life of 56 years on June 25, 1960. Dorothy was a very generous person and was a caregiver her whole life. She enjoyed bingo at Treasure Island whenever she could go. She also enjoyed cross stitching, knitting, listening to Elvis Presley and polka music. Dorothy loved everything about the outdoors including fishing and gardening.

Dorothy is preceded by her husband Anthony Macioch Sr.; her parents, Samuel Emerson Sr. and Leona Emerson; brother, Samuel Emerson Jr.; sister, Margaret Kautt.

She is survived by her children, Deborah Macioch, Anthony Macioch Jr., Teresia Rice, Patrinella Kremer; 8 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held January 30, 2023 at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel, 3075 Vermillion Street, Hastings, Minnesota, from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 12:00 P.M. Interment will be held at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery at 1:30 P.M.
