Donald J. Lothenbach

It is with great sadness, we announce that Donald John Lothenbach “Loaf”, son, brother, loving dad and grandpa, passed away on December 4th, 2023 at the age of 69 with his family by his side.

Don will be fondly remembered as a man who loved his family very deeply and was an extremely proud grandpa. As an outlaw, Don was a man who made his own rules. He had a love for motorcycles, cars and being on his boat.

He started his career enjoying the freedom of a truck driver until he became a business owner of Prism Auto Body in Hastings. He later was employed by the Hastings Bus Company, Afton Alps, Emerald Greens Golf Course, and finally the school district as a security guard where he could keep an eye on his grandkids.

Don will be sadly missed by his mother, Phyllis Lothenbach, son Bryan (Kristina) Schultz, daughters Amy (Tim) Wenskaug and Tracy (Justin) Lohmann, grandchildren Olivia, Carter, Bennett and Julia Schultz, Alyssa and Gavin Wenskaug, and Sam and Elliott Lohmann, brother Gary (Judy) Lothenbach, sisters Diane Thompson, Jane (Kerry) Baumgartner, and Carol (Jerry) TerHark, many nieces and nephews, and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey, daughter Wendy and his father, Thomas Lothenbach.

A Celebration of Life be on Monday, December 18, 2023 from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. at Starkson Family Life Celebration Chapel in Hastings, MN. Interment will take place at Lakeside Cemetery following the Celebration of Life.
